Translation is the bridge of cross-culture communication. In the course of connecting the source text and target text, it both deconstructs and constructs the cultural identities of both parties. By studying constructed and deconstructed elements in the trans- lation process, and the process of deconstruetion and construction, it can be argued that the relationship between deconstmction and construction is reciprocal, and the deconstruction of the source text and the construction of the target text are not absolute. Every cul- ture owes its unique cultural identity, though, such uniqueness is relative, and represents itself only in the central area of that culture. In the peripheral fields that are interwoven with other cultures, what is more likely to be demonstrated is their common point. The relation between various processes of translation is just the representation of the relativity of cultural identities in translation.
