Teachers are widely recognized as the most influential factor in students＇ academic success. America has paid great concern on selecting teachers for university. This paper will examine the following three aspects the recruiting requirements for university teacher candidates, the curriculum design for doctor＇s degree in education as well as the new teacher induction in university. The paper aims at examining the entry barriers for university teachers in America in order to provide some reference to Chinese universities in selecting and training their new teachers.
