You know作为话语标记语通常没有任何实际意义,只是作为引出下一段话的工具。正因如此,许多美剧字幕组甚至直接在翻译须知中注明遇到you know直接省掉不译,但它的意义并不只在于引出下文,还有很多其他的用法。本文通过对一整季《生活大爆炸》中出现的you know进行归类分析,找到you know各种情况下的正确翻译方法。

Normally, ＂you know＂, as a discourse marker, has no actual meaning, its sole purpose is a tool of introducing the upcoming conversation. For this reason, lots of fan subs even specifically point out in their translation do＇s and don＇ts to simply omit whenever encountered. Yet the significance of the discourse marker ＂you know＂ is not only introduce the coming conversation, but many other functions. This paper is intended to find out the rightful translation method of the discourse marker ＂you know＂, based on categorizing all the ＂you know＂ that appeared in the whole season of The Big Bang Theory.
