摘要
数字不仅是一种语言符号,而且是一种文化符号。英汉数字鲜明地体现了各民族宗教信仰、传统文化及心理等文化特色。本文通过对中英文数字文化内涵的比较,归纳出了数字翻译的几种可行性策略,旨在提高数字翻译的准确性。
Numerals are not only linguistic symbols, but also cultural symbols. English ＆ Chinese numerals vividly represent the religious beliefs, traditional cultures and the psychologies of their various countries. In this paper, a comparison is made of the cultural connotation of English ＆ Chinese numerals, and some translation strategies are suggested to promote the accuracy in the numeral translation.
