卢卡奇是西方马克思主义的创始人,《历史与阶级意识》被称为西方马克思主义的圣经,总体性思想就是书中提出的重要思想。他希望在总体性思想的基础上获得马克思主义辩证法的理解,建立无产阶级意识,从而超越资产阶级科学和资本主义的"物化"。因而对西方马克思主义理论逻辑发展产生了重要的影响,同时对我国构建社会主义和谐社会和坚持科学发展观具有重要的启示意义。

The ideology of totality proposed by Lukacs,founder of Western Marxism,is an important idea put forward in his History and Class Consciousness,which is known as the Bible of Western Marxism.As Lukacs hopes,his ideology of totality can help us to approach the Marxist dialectics so that we can form a proletarian consciousness and transcend the bourgeois science and the capitalist objectification.it has exerted great influence upon the logical development of Western Marxist theory.Most importantly,it is substantially enlightening to China＇s development of a harmonious socialist society and her adherence to the Scientific Outlook on Development.
