《三国演义》还描写了绰约多姿的降将人物——或具写某一降将人物的一生事迹,并予以表彰;或蜻蜓点水,一笔带过;或者以其他反面人物反复烘托主要降将人物的性格特质。中国战争史上降将无数,然而这些降将的存在与时代文化和传统文化中的人才观、择主观以及功名思想等文化因素不无关系。探讨降将形象背后存在的文化心理机制,通过《三国演义》降将人物描写深入研究降将现象,对于研究战争中的降将文化及其现象具有相当的价值和意义。

In The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, various surrender generals are narrated and commended, some described in detail with the whole life stories, some narrated like a dragonfly skimming the surface of the water without going into it deeply, or some contrasted with other negative characters to highlight their characters. In the Chinese war history, there were many surrender generals, and this phenomenon was closely connected with the factors of the times and traditional cultures such as their concepts about talent and choice of masters as well as their ideas of scholarly honors and official ranks.
