便秘是消化道常见症状,发病率高,严重影响人类身体健康和生活质量。文献报道便秘的发生率为2%～3.7%。在美国,便秘在人群中的发生率为2%～28%,每年约有400万以上患者有便秘症状。我国1996年天津地区便秘流行病学调查,便秘发生率为3.7%,在60岁以上人群中的发生率更是高达15%～20%。

Tianjin, China in 1996 epidemiological survey of constipation, constipation rate was 3.7% in people over the age of 60 the incidence is as high as 15%～20%.
