After an analysis of some typical cases of short-lived buildings and 11 reasons causing short-lived buildings in China. The harm of repeated demolition and reconstruction to the national economy, people＇s livelihood and environmental protection is pointed out. Besides, countermeasures and proposals are made covering aspects such as the government, legislation, design and construction management, etc.
