Shen Congwen's Studies on Ancient Costume and Costume Archaeology:Rereading A Study of Ancient Chinese Costume

在《中国古代服饰研究》正式出版30周年之际,本文回顾了沈从文先生的学术经历和治学特点,系统分析了该书在研究材料、研究方法、研究视野方面的特点,重新审视了该书在中国古代服饰研究领域的地位和学术价值。在此基础上进一步提出有关"服饰的考古学研究"的概念,并就服饰的考古学研究与服饰史研究的关系等问题进行阐述。

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of A Study of Ancient Chinese Costume, this paper reviews Shen Congwen＇ s academic career and researches as well as the research material, approach, and perspective in this book. In addition, the book＇ s status and academic value in ancient Chinese costume studies are re-evaluated. The paper further proposes the theory of ＂archaeological research ofancient Chinese costume＂ and discusses the differences between the archaeological research and history research of ancient Chinese costume.
