Famous Historians and Taiwan General History

爱国志士连横发愤著《台湾通史》,讴歌先民开拓台湾,传承台湾历史与台湾文化,维系民族精神于不坠,以笔为剑,反抗日本的殖民统治,做出了难能可贵的贡献。国学大师张继、章太炎、徐炳昶等人阅读《台湾通史》,对连横的史才、史学、史识颇为推崇,撰写文字,大力揄扬《台湾通史》。经过连震东的多方奔走,商务版《台湾通史》面世,使这部史学名著为中国大陆学术界所知晓。

Lian Heng did his best to write one book whose name was Taiwan General History. It propagated the ancestors who exploited the virgin lands in Taiwan, spreaded the history and culture of Taiwan, preserved the Chinese spirit. Using one pen as one sword, Lian Heng opposed the Japa-nese colonial rule. His effort was very important. Having read the book, some famous historians in China's Mainland, such as Zhang Ji,Zhang Taiwan General History. They wrote a few to look for one publishing house. Finally, Taiyan, and Xu Bingchang, highly evaluated the value of papers to introduce the book. Lian Zhendong worked hard the Commercial Press published Taiwan General History in China's Mainland. The academic circle began to know the importance of the book.
