This paper addresses the efforts made and hardship taken by the former Soviet Union from 1949 to 1950 to help China restore its seat of representative in the United Nations, defying the numerous obstacles set by a group of anti--China forces led by the United States. The significance of the persistent efforts of the Soviet Government is not only in consolidating and developing the friendship between the two parties and two peoples in the two countries, but also in the maintenance of international justice, and the enhancement of the prestige and influence of the United Nations.
