本文作者从实践需要出发，结合我国的国情，对城市设计理论进行了系统的研究，提出城市设计理论框架和应用纲要。主要内容包括：城市设计的定位和起点，城市设计的内容与主要指标，城市设计空间体系的主要环节，城市设计空间构成原理以及城市设计的程度和各阶段深度等。

Starting from the practical demand, the author of this article, combining the national condition of China,makes a systematic study of city planning theory and puts forward the theoretical frame and application outlines of city planning. The main content includes: the location and starting point of city planning, the content and main target of city planning, the chief links of space system in city planning, the space composing theories of city planning as well as the degree and depth of various phases in city planning and others.
