城市公共领域语言使用状况的社会差异——在南京和苏州百货公司的匿名观察

The Social Differences of Language Use in Cities' Public Domains:An Observation on Nanjing and Suzhou's Department Stores

在南京和苏州六家百货公司的匿名观察发现,人们在城市公共领域的语言选择存在着明显的社会差异,年龄、社会阶层、交际对象以及交际类型是影响公共领域语言使用状况的重要社会因素。在当前的城市公共领域中,语言使用存在着内外差异和社会层化现象,此外,普通话的使用已成为普遍趋势。

This article is a study of the language choice behaviors in Nanjing and Suzhou＇ s department stores, which is based on a large-scale anonymous observation. The results show that speakers＇ age, social status, interlocutors and communication type have a great influence on the language choice behaviors in the public domain. There are stratification phenomena in the public domain. A comparison between the results and the sample questionnaire survey is also conducted in this article.
