The virtues of the officials in the Early Roman Republic mainly lay in the fouowing two aspects. On the one hand, in daily life, they not only set an example of working in the agricultural industry, but also lived simply and unwilling to be extravagant. They maintained a simple image of being a farmer. On the other hand,on official duty, they could be whitehanded and redused to bribe. They did not abuse of power for personal interests. They kept an good image in the heart of the Romans. They consciously tied their own destiny with the fortune of the nation. Moreover, they put personal business and national business together. They guaranteed the po- litical clarity and stability of the country by their excellent image of being whitehanded.
