Military affairs are important topics in literature. In the literature themed on military affairs at peacetime, there is often a conflict between the professional ideal and social reality on the part of armymen at peacetime, which is frequently manifest in a lamentable tragic manner. The relativity between war and peace not only highlights the importance of the misery awareness and of war preparations in times of peace but also plunges some professional armymen filled with a sense of mission and of responsibility into a contra- dictory state between no fighting and ready alertness. Moreover, the simplification of the state in the political milieu at peacetime has led armymen with ideals at peacetime to much frustration and even a series of human or social tragedies. The 39^th Day is just a hero hymn of the military stories marked by heroic sentiments in times of peace.
