马克思在《资本论》及其手稿中揭示出近代西欧资本主义存在三重起源:其一是15世纪资本主义的萌芽;其二是16到17世纪商业资本主义的起源;其三是18世纪工业资本主义的起源。资本主义的起源是多重因素综合作用的结果,而其本质归根结底在于资本的生成。

Marx unveiled in Das Kapital and his other manuscripts that there were three origi- nal sources of capitalism in modern Western Europe. The first one was the rudiments of capital- ism during the 15th century. The second one was the origin of commercial capitalism from the 16th to 17th centuries. The third one was the origin of industrial capitalism in the 18th century. The origin of capitalism was effected by many factors, but the essential point, after all, was the formation of capital.
