Water Rush for Thirsty Beijing
A secure water supply is a priority for the Beijing government under the municipality＇s 12th Five-Year Plan. A project to transfer water from southern China will be completed by 2015 to quench the city＇s thirst with I billion cubic meters of water annually. Another 1 billion cubic meters is expected to come from the major reservoirs and through recycling.
