This paper focuses on the second part of Heinrich Heine's Florentine Nights,'The Second Night.' It compares the cultural identities of the two cities of London and Paris, and,by drawing up the dynamics from the creation of the Other to the formation of the Cliché,attempts to sort out the European cultural development, that is,the cultural pedigree of Britain,France,Germany and Italy, and thus reveals the revelatory import of alien images for the construction of German cultural identity. It also explores the impetus of the City images presented to the narrative.By looking into the first dance in London, life experience in Paris, and second dance in midnight Paris,it unveils the implication of the heroine's solo dance and the significance of dance in French culture.
