明德少儿英文图书馆的实践与思考

Practice and Thought of Apple Tree Libraries

明德少儿英文图书馆是由美国明德图书馆基金会与我国公共图书馆合作成立的非营利性图书馆,为我国少年儿童提供了图书种类繁多的阅读服务,取得了良好的效果。明德少儿英文图书馆存在馆藏结构不合理、图书利用效率低、宣传力度不够、服务方式和手段相对单一、队伍建设相对薄弱、图书馆之间缺少合作与沟通、缺少政府和社会的支持等问题。因此,明德少儿英文图书馆需要改善馆藏结构,增加馆藏数量,加大宣传力度,提高图书的利用率,建立合作网络,加强英文文献信息的开发,提高员工的综合素质,丰富和扩大对外文化交流的形式。

Apple Tree Library is found by Apple Tree Library foundation in American and pubic libraries in China, which provides a wider range of reading services and achieves good results. However, Apple Tree Library has some deficiencies： irrational collection structure, low utilization rate of books, insufficient publicity, single ways and means of services, weak team building, lack of cooperation and communication between libraries, lack of government and community supports, and so on .Therefore, Apple Tree Library should improve collection structure, increase the number of collections; enhance publicity, improve the utilization of books; establish cooperation networks; strengthen the exploiture of English literatures; improve the overall quality of librarians; enrich and expand external culture communication forms.
