Thl7 cells, a subtype of CD4^+ T helper cells, mainly produce IL-17 and IL-22, and are linked to host defense against infections, autoimmunity and tumors. The C-type lectin receptors are a type of important pattern recongnition receptors, which are capable of regulating the balance between Thl and Thl7 responses . Many of these receptors recognise fungi, and other pathogens. Thus, they play key roles in the development of protective anti-microbial immunity. The roles of C-type lectins in the differentionation of Thl7 has beenindicated recently. Understanding the ligands and signaling might reveal new therapeutic targets for diseases.
