Effect of Temperature and Humidity on Laboratory Animal Welfare

【目的】研究温度、湿度对实验动物福利的影响。【方法】将KM小鼠分别放在不同温度、湿度条件下,观察温度、湿度对KM小鼠血液常规和血清生化指标的影响。【结果】不适宜的温度、湿度条件可造成小鼠血常规中红细胞、血红蛋白数改变,平均红细胞血红蛋白含量、平均红细胞血红蛋白浓度发生变化;血清中丙氨酸氨基转移酶(ALT)和门冬氨酸氨基转移酶(AST)浓度升高,白蛋白(ALB)水平升高;肌酐、尿素和尿酸水平降低;三酰甘油、血糖水平降低。【结论】不适宜的环境对实验动物的肝功能有一定的损害,导致实验动物消化不良,出现营养不良、贫血、脱水等症状,因此实验动物环境因素与动物福利有着密切的关系。

Objective To investigate the effect of temperature and humidity on the laboratory animal welfare.Methods KM mice were fed under the conditions of different temperature and humidity,and then we observed the changes of blood routine parameters and serum biochemical indicators of KM mice.Results The results showed that inappropriate temperature and humidity resulted in the changes of red blood cells count and hemoglobin level in KM mice.Meanwhile,mean corpuscular hemoglobin（MCH） content and MCH concentration were increased,serum levels of alanine aminotransferase（ALT）,aspartate aminotransferase（AST） and albumin（ALB） were increased,and serum creatinine,urea,uric acid and triglyceride levels and blood glucose were decreased.Conclusion Inappropriate environment can cause certain damage to liver function of laboratory animal,resulting in indigestion,malnutrition,anemia,and dehydration in laboratory animal.Therefore,environmental factors are closely related to animal welfare.
