摘要 Nanjing-style paper cutting is an important genre of Chinese paper cutting. It is known for its diverse designs, simplistic but graceful shapes, finely cut lines and unique skills.The history of Nanjing-style paper cutting can date back more than 300 years. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, paper cuts were often used at wedding ceremonies and on festive occasions.Its early development was associated with embroidery, because in the beginning, paper cuts were used as pattern samples for embroidery works. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, Nanking-style paper cutting had become a unique expression of folk art popular in southeast Nanjing-style paper cutting is an important genre of Chinese paper cutting. It is known for its diverse designs, simplistic but graceful shapes, finely cut lines and unique skills.
