柏拉图是古希腊伟大的思想家之一,在其晚期著作《法篇》中,柏拉图大量的教育思想是通过对体育的论述来得以阐明的。他从哲学家的角度指出体育是培养身心和谐发展的人的重要手段。这一思想成为近代自然主义教育思想的基础。柏拉图用朴素唯物主义观点论述了体育的起源,他还提出了个人要服从整体、服务于社会的军事体育思想,这一思想成为近代军国民思想的基础。

Plato is one of the greatest thinkers in ancient Greece.He had clarified his education thoughts by discussing his physical education thoughts in ＂Laws＂.As a philosopher,he pointed out that physical education was an important method to cultivate a man with a harmonious development of body and mind.The thoughts had become a foundation of naturalistic education thought in modern times.Plato had discussed the origins of physical education with his naive materialism viewpoint.And he had put forward the military sports thought in which he insisted on that individual must obey the collective and serve the society.And now the military sports thought becomes the foundation of military national thought in modern times.
