安徽师范大学图书馆藏盛宣怀“愚斋图书”探析

An analytical study of the Collection of the Foolish Studio collected by Sheng Xuan-huai stored in the library of Anhui Normal University

盛宣怀是清末大官僚大买办,别号愚斋,他所收藏的图书称为愚斋藏书。盛氏本着"贻之子孙,不如公之同好"的心愿创办愚斋图书馆,却未能如愿。盛氏死后,愚斋藏书由其后人分别捐赠给上海的圣约翰大学、南洋公学和山西铭贤学校,其中上海交通大学(前身为南洋公学)当年所得的577种图书于解放后全国高校院系调整时调拨给了合肥师范学院,即安徽师范大学的前身。文章旨在向学界同仁介绍安徽师范大学图书馆所藏的愚斋图书状况,期有抛砖引玉之用。

Sheng Xuan-huai was a famous bureaucrat and comprador in the late Qing Dynasty,whose courtesy name was Yu Zhai.His collection of books of his was also known as the Collection of the Foolish Studio.He established his studio motivated by the desire of ＂benefiting sons and grandsons is not as good as benefiting fellows＂.Although his long-cherished dreams did not come true,and all books were sent to Shanghai St.John University,Nanyang Public School and Shanxi Mingxian School by his descendants,among which Shanghai Jiaotong University got 577 titles then.Owing to the reorganization of universities and colleges in China,the books were allocated and transferred to Hefei Normal College,the predecessor of Anhui Normal University after liberation.This article is aiming at introducing the history and present situation of the Collection of the Foolish Studio stored in the library of Anhui Normal University to the colleagues of library circle so as to offer a few immature remarks to solicit other scholars＇ wise and mature opinions.
