摘要
在现有实验室条件下,利用10台微机和高速以太网构建基于Linux的小型同构PC集群,并对软件配置过程进行详细描述.利用系统进行计算圆周率的并行程序编制,根据运行结果对系统的性能进行评测.结果表明:系统在充分利用现有硬件资源基础上获得了较高的计算速度,同时具有较好的并行加速比和并行计算效率.利用这种方法构建集群是低成本获取高性能计算的有效途径,为今后的并行计算研究提供一个较好的开发平台.
Along with the extensive use of parallel computing in diverse research areas,nowadays,cluster has been demonstrated to be the main trend of parallel computing systems inevitably.Compared with the expensive specialized cluster,the versatile cluster constructed with PC owning the high cost performance.This paper concentrated on how to build a diminutive PC cluster based on the Linux operating system with 10 PCs and the high-speed Ethernet network under the existing conditions.The detailed process of software configurations was elaborated.In order to evaluate the performance of the system,an example solving the pi implmented using parallel algorithm was given.The result showed that the powerful speed obtained by the cluster was relying on making the full use of the hardware resources in existence.At the same time,a good performance with higher parallel speedup and efficiency was achieved as expected.It was an efficient way to get high-performance computing with low cost by this means.And it provided us with an expansive flatform for the further research on parallel computing in future.
