The Study on Surname of Shi Lu in Qin Dynasty

我们称秦代开凿灵渠的工程总指挥为史禄,其实在汉代,史书只称其为监禄而不称史禄的。监是官职监御史的简称,禄是其名,而其姓失传。直到晚唐才有人称呼其为史禄,这使后人误以为其姓史。不过唐以后许多人仍然称其为监禄或者监御史禄。

We thought that Shi Lu has been the general director of the project of Lingqu canal in Qin Dynasty.In fact,in the Han Dynasty,historical works called just inspect Paul instead of Shi Lu.Supervision of official prison censor abbreviation,Paul is the name,the family name is lost.Until the late Tang Dynasty some people called him as Shi Lu,this makes people think that his surname is Shi.But Tang Dynasty later many people still called him supervisor Paul or prison censor Lu.
