Deng Xiaoping＇s Views on the CYL and the Youth Work

新中国成立后,邓小平曾一度分管青年团工作,对共青团与青年工作关系有大量论述。他指出,广泛团结青年群众是共青团的根本、代表和维护青年利益是共青团的重要职能、共青团工作应适合青年特点和时代要求。这些重要论述,对于正确理解和把握共青团自身存在和发展的基础、共青团工作的出发点和落脚点、共青团的职能、共青团的工作方法等一系列问题,都有着十分重大的现实意义。

After the founding of new China,Deng Xiaoping was once in charge of the work of the Communist Youth League and the youth work,introducing a large number of discourses about the relations between the Youth League and the youth work.He pointed out： to unite the young people is CYL＇s fundamental foundation;to represent and safeguard the interests of the youth is CYL＇s important function;the CYL＇s work should be suitable for the characteristics of the youth and the demand of the times.These important statements have great realistic significance in correctly understanding and grasping a series of problems,i.e.the basis of CYL＇s own existence and development,the starting point and goal of CYL work,its function and its work methods,etc.
