从美德伦理的视角来看,但丁的天国系由"四枢德"和"三超德"组成。自"月轮天"至"木星天"是"四枢德"的境界,但丁对该境界中各项美德的顺序安排与传统提法显然不同,这反映了他对这一源自古希腊的美德伦理体系的重新阐释;第七重天即"土星天",其上是"三超德"的境界,表达了但丁心目中人类精神继续上升的道路;"土星天"即为两个境界的结合部,但丁在那里放置了一架天梯,象征着两个美德体系间神圣的交流。
Dante＇s heaven is actually the place for virtues,the Four Cardinal virtues and the Three Supernatural Virtues.Dante arranged the orders of the former in a significant way that is evidently different from the traditional ways,displaying his explanation on the Greek-based virtue system;the Three Supernatural Virtues were arranged above the seventh sphere,the Saturn,where he located a ladder,symbolizing the divine communication between the two systems of virtues.
