Research on the Changes of the Geography Category in Republican Period Local Records

民国方志类目受到地理科学、西方技术引进的影响,地理类目名称在不断变革,有疆土、舆地、方舆、沿革等。同时,地理类目的子目也呈现出全新的现代内容,使方志地理类目科学性增强。人文与地理的密切关系引起民国方志诸家重视,开始引入实地调查与研究,使地势、地质、气候等现代地理学知识渗入其中,对现代方志的形成作用巨大。

Influenced by the introduction of geographical science and Western technologies into China,the names of the geography category in Republican Period local records have been under constant changes,with names such as Territory,Land,Earth,and Evolution.Meanwhile,the sub-categories of the geography category also presented completely new modern contents,strengthened the local records geography category scientific nature.The close relation between the humanities and geography was attached great importance by local records scholars during the Republican Period,field investigation and research started to be introduced,and modern geographical knowledge such as geology and climate started to seep in,all these contributed greatly to the formation of modern local records.
