Oral manifestations of immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome in HIV infectors after highly active antiretroviral therapy

艾滋病病毒(HIV)感染者经高效抗反转录病毒治疗(HAART)后,能够恢复对病原体的免疫反应,并大大降低感染者的死亡率。然而,一些HIV感染者接受HAART后,重建的免疫系统又导致了新的病理性炎症反应,称为免疫重建炎症综合征(IRIS),它可导致大量的患者在短期内发病甚至死亡。文章对免疫重建炎症综合征的发病机制和口腔临床表现等方面的最新进展进行了综述。

The treatment of human immunodeficiency virus （HIV） - infected individuals after highly active antiretroviral therapy （HAART） has restored immune responses against pathogens and may cause a marked decline in mortality among them. However, in some HIV infectors receiving HAART, the reconstituted immune system leads to a new pathological inflammatory response, named as immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome （IRIS）, which causes short-term morbidity or even mortality. This review describes the recent advances in the study of pathogenesis and oral clinical presentations of IRIS.
