老年痴呆症是指老年期慢性进行性智能全面衰退性疾病。中医辨证论治,病程较短者,多以实证为主,重在祛痰化瘀,可改善症状,疗效较好;久病,病程长者,常以虚证为主,重在补虚,疗效相对较差。不论是实证或虚证,只要坚持治疗,即可出现逆转佳象,达到一定程度智能恢复的目标。

Old dementia is an old age,chronic progressive degenerative disease in intelligence.In the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine,I noticed that the patients of Shorter duration showed the strong evils,symptoms were improved faster,and the effect was better after treatment by focusing on removing phlegm and stagnant.The patients of longer duration showed the Deficiency syndrome,symptoms were improved slower and the effect was poorer after treatment by focusing on benefiting the body.But whatever the syndrome is deficient or powerful,the intelligence of the patient will be improved more or less if the patients can receive the treatment of pharmacy for longer.
