摘要
20世纪20—30年代,尤金.奥尼尔开启了美国现代戏剧的历史,几乎与此同时,中国舞台以爱美剧的形式向现代戏剧过渡。30年代,奥尼尔的五部独幕剧和两部长剧渐次登上中国话剧舞台,见证并推动了中国小剧场运动的发展和爱美演剧浪潮的起落。本文从这些交织文化的中国奥尼尔演出切入,以个案分析的方式,再现中国戏剧现代性生成和中国现代社会建构的一段历程。
In the 1920s and the 1930s when Eugene O'Neil led the US theatre into a modem age, Chinese theatre was also trying to modernize itself through the "amateur" theatre movement. During the 1930s, 5 of O'Neil's one-act plays and 2 of his longer plays were staged in China. These productions both promoted and resulted from the development of small theatre movement and the "amateur" theatre movement. This article analyses the interweaving cultural performances of O'Neil's works in China, so as to restore the process of modernization of theatre and the building of modern society in China.
