The prefatory remarks recorded in QISHAZANG（碛砂藏） were produced during the inscribing process of the Buddhist scripture in Song Dynasty. Although having been inscribed in different periods, some remarks share similar theme, which indicate people＇s desire for help and protection from Buddhist Gods. Since these documents can be regarded as reflection of people＇s true feelings, to some extent, they can also provide us with information about the living conditions, particularly the spiritual life of the patrons. One thing that we can be sure of is that these remarks reveal the real life not only of Pingjiang area, but also of the whole area south of the Yangtze River. As a result, an analysis of these remarks will be of great help for understanding the history of southeast China in Song Dynasty. As important documents handed down by ordinary people, these remarks possess considerable historical value.
