A dust case over North China(May 2008) was monitored and studied by a synergy of ground-based lidar(located in Beijing and Xianghe site),satellite lidar, sunphotometer and particle monitoring instrument. The result show that,(a) the heavy dust transported from Mongolia impacts a large area in North China and lasts for a long time,(b) there are three peak aerosol loadings during this period, and the temperature rising up and dropping down again as well as rapid decrease of relative humidity were observed response to each peak,(c) the predominant aerosol is fine/coarse aerosol before/after dust intrusion in Beijing and Xianghe.
