汉语中的数量范畴自成一统,不仅兼顾名量、动量和事量,而且对周边的语法产生影响。量词在部分事件句中的强制性和非强制性倾向,证明它对名词语义的补充和对动词义类的划定。英语中的同步概念名量上绰绰有余,但在动量和事量上却显得不足,不可数的可延展性或可复制性导致动作论元的开放搭配以及动作内涵的量化不足。

Chinese classifiers （CLSF） form a system in itself, with quantifications of nouns, verbs and events included and certain summary effects borne on grammar around. Their English counterparts possess a rich version of nominal quantification, but certain still lacking in are verbs and events where the expansible and replicate mass awakens the openness of collocations in argument structurem resulting in a degree of insufficiency of their intensional quantification.
