This paper describes the form and action of the lithium fluoride and lithium carbonate during aluminium reduction and the status of alumina contained lithium as raw material of aluminium reduction in China. It analyses the preparation process of anhydrous aluminium fluoride contained lithium and illustrates the key role of anhydrous aluminium fluoride contained lithium during the aluminlum reduction.
