荣赫鹏置身英国和俄国在中亚进行的大角逐中,先后深入我国新疆和西藏腹心地区考察,乃至带兵武装入侵西藏,他的行动加重了我国近代的边疆危机。本文利用大量中英文档案等资料,对荣赫鹏在英国对我国新疆和西藏扩张中起到的作用加以分析,期有助于相关问题研究的深入。

In the time of British contest against Russia in Central Asia,Francis Younghusband conducted explorations deep in Xinjiang and Tibet,and then even military aggression in Tibet;these aggravated the border crisis of our modern country.This paper is focused on the role Younghusband played in British expansion into Xinjiang and Tibet of our county in order to further studies on related questions by using both Chinese and English archives and documents.
