For years I have been teaching English reading in large class, searching for a way of making a successful transition from the traditional style of transmission model to the modern approach of communicative interaction. In the traditional class, the teacher asks students to read the target-article, then gives them a good translation, directs students to do some related exercises. It has proved to be dull and monotonous, even less efficient.
