As traditional financing channels have been narrowed, property developers tend to rely more onthe real estate funds. In the first 11 months of 2011, 26 funds that could invest in the China’s real estate industry have raised about 3.6 billion dollars. In 2011, the Chinese government continued the strictest regulatory policy. It has been very difficult for property developers to borrow money from the banks and through other traditional ways. Under this circumstance, many property companies are turning to real estate funds since there is not much supervision on this financing channel.
