Unlike swimming pools imbedded onto the ground, elevated swimming pools are generally built indoor occupying space of several floors. Below the elevated swimming pool there are usually public business places, and any seepage will cause great economic losses. Therefore, the waterproofing requirements for elevated swimming pools are quite demanding. In order to guarantee the design and construction quality of elevated swimming pool and preclude quality problems like seepage, various parties including the client, the designer, the supervisor and the contractor all attach great importance to the issue. In the paper, the authors share their insights in the issue by making a case study on design and measures in construction in waterproofing of an elevated swimming pool in a hotel from the nersneetive ofproject management.
