Domingo lauded in London as"one of a kind"

2011年是普拉西多·多明戈在皇家歌剧院首演40周年的纪念,这40年演艺生涯中,他矗立了无数里程碑。1971年12月8日,多明戈在皇家歌剧院首演《托斯卡》,虽然这场演出非常有纪念意义,但多明戈自1965年就与纽约市立歌剧院定期合作演出该剧,而他的美国首演更可追溯至1961年。他就是这样惊人,在国际歌剧界叱咤风云长达半个世纪。

To mark the 40^(th) anniversary of Placidp Domingo's London debut,the Royal Opera offered three fully staged final acts from Verdi operas in gala format.The evening started with Domingo revisiting his original status as a tenor,though his Otello is very cautious these days,as he has to husband his resources carefully.Then it was on to the safer ground he has found more recently as a baritone and the first glimpse here of his Rigoletto. Suddenly,his voice rang that would make singers half his age envious. Both here,and lastly as Simon Boccanegra,the ever tireless Domingo showed that his ability to command the stage remains undiminished.
