摘要
由印度当代著名学者金德尔和夏尔玛合著的《敦煌佛教绘画》,是世界敦煌学研究史上一座具有划时代意义的新里程碑。它标志着学术界期望已久的印度藏敦煌绘画文献正式刊布问世,世界敦煌学研究大家庭中有了印度面孔,敦煌学研究将进入一个中印合作、多国合作的全面发展的新阶段。而《敦煌佛教绘画》的刊布,为中印合作和多国合作提供了学术基础和思想基础。
Buddhist Painingts of Tun-huang in the National Museum,New Delhi,co-authored by famous contemporary Indian scholars,Professor Lokesh Chandra and Professor Nirmala Shirma,has become a landmark in the world history of Tun-huang studies.It marks the publication of Dunhuang paintings and Dunhuang manuscripts in India,which has been expected for a long time in the Academia.Therefrom,the big family of Dunhuang studies has Indian faces.A new phase in the development of Dunhuang studies has started which is characterized by the cooperation between Chinese and Indian scholars and multi-national collaboration.Moreover,publication of the book also provides an academic and ideological foundation for such cooperation.
