Breeding of Xinzhong 78,a New Mid-maturity Overlapping Cultivar of Chinese Cabbage

新中78是新乡市农业科学院培育的中熟大白菜一代杂种。生育期80d左右，植株半开展，株高43～48cm，株幅6403cm，叶球叠抱圆头形，外叶浅绿色；球高28．8cm，球宽23．3cm，球形指数1．23，结球紧实；净菜率77．62％，软叶率37．85％，单株净菜产量4kg左右，每667m2产净菜6200-8400kg；丰产、抗病、品质优良，适宜在河南、河北南部、山东西部、安徽北部等地作中熟秋播大白菜种植。

Xinzhong 78 is a new mid-maturity overlapping Chinese cabbage F1 hybrid. Its growth period is about 80 days. The plant is 43-48 cm in height, 64-73 cm in width. Its head is overlapping, globose and compact. Its leaf head is 28.8 cm in height, 23.3 cm in diameter, with the head shape index of 1.23. Its net head rate is 77.62%, and the soft leaf rate is 37.85%. The average weight of a single head is about 4.0 kg, and its yield is 6 200-8 400 kg/667 m2. It has high yield, high disease resistance and good quality. It is suitable to be extended in Henan, southern Hebei, western Shandong and northern Anhui in autumn.
