Style, Origin and Position: The Songs of Ouyang Xiu

在词的发展历史上,欧阳修是一位继往开来的人物,他在唐五代词发展的基础上,推陈出新,无论是境界、内容还是形式,都开辟了两宋以后词史发展的风气。宋代联章鼓子词和慢词的写作都在很大程度上受到欧阳修词的影响。欧阳修用词表现自己的娱乐生活和真实情感,风格开阖变化,浑成热烈,以其特有的个性雄居于北宋词坛。

Ouyang Xiu is a distinguished poet in the evolution of Ci, who carried forward the songs into the future. On the basis of Tang Wudai Dynasty Ci, he brought forth new changes in artistic conception, content as well as format, which hewed a path for Ci development since North and South Song Dynasty. The impact pushed the emergence of a set of songs(GuZi Ci) and Man Ci. Ouyang Xiu manifested his recreational life and genuine emotions by Ci with a varying but natural and passionate style which ranked the top in the songs arena of North Song Dynasty.
