Critical receptions of Pinter＇s plays in China exhibit an interesting case exemplifying how a national classic ＂travels＂ and becomes a world classic. Chinese per- spectives of Pinter studies display a scholarly achievement in China on the one hand, and the development in Pinter＇s oeuvre on the other. Future Pinter studies can be undertaken under the general rubric of various approaches such as the comparative, cross-generic, cross-media and the positivist cultural in order to explore further the artistry and socio-po- litical significance of Pinter＇s drama.
