摘要
广西商界在清末资产阶级民主革命党人的影响下,对革命有一定程度的理解甚至是支持。他们在辛亥革命前的政治舞台上相当活跃,致力于新式教育文化事业、创办近代企业、倡导立宪及地方自治,既为自己谋求政治、经济上的权益,又在客观上为辛亥革命发动准备了一定的条件。辛亥革命后,广西商界借助传统的力量和社会公益事业实现其近代转型。
Under the influence of bourgeois democratic revolutionaries in late Qing Dynasty, Guangxi business circle expressed to some extent their understanding or even support towards the revolutionary movement. They were quite active in the political arena before the Revolution of 1911, committing themselves to new-style education and cultural undertakings, establishing modern enterprises, championing constitutionality and regional autonomy. All these not only served to pursue their political and economic rights and benefits, but also objectively created certain conditions for the launching of the Revolution of 1911. After the Revolution, Guangxi business circle began to practice transformation towards the modern times with the aid of the strength of traditions and public welfare undertakings.
