国家网格主节点超级计算环境应用特征分析 被引量:4

The Analysis of Application Characteristics of Supercomputing Environments Provided by Main Nodes of the China National Grid

摘要 中国国家网格作为重要的计算基础设施,已经应用于科学研究、气象预报、油气勘探、生物制药、交通运输和航空制造等领域。国家网格主节点(中国科学院超级计算中心和上海超级计算中心)超级计算环境在网格应用发展中发挥着重要的作用。本文从计算能力、作业计算规模、科研成果、用户群体、服务支撑体系、用户服务模式和经费来源结构七个维度,以实际业务数据为支撑,分析了国家网格主节点超级计算环境应用特征。分析结果表明,南北主节点超级计算环境的应用特点鲜明,较好地体现了国家网格环境建设布局与应用需求的对接;国家网格有力彰显了其对科学研究和技术创新的计算服务支撑能力。该分析对于国家网格环境的可持续发展决策、高性能计算发展规划、其他超级计算中心建设与应用发展等具有参考价值。 As an important computing infrastructure, the China National Grid (CNGrid) has been applied to several fields, such as scientific research, weather forecast, oil and gas exploration, biology, pharmacy, transportation, air manufacturing, etc. The supercomputing environments in main nodes of CNGrid (i.e., the Supercomputing Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Supercomputing Center) are playing crucial roles in the development of grid applications. Based on the real data, the application characteristics of the supercomputing environments provided by those two main nodes of CNGrid are analyzed in seven aspects including computing capability, computing scale of users' jobs, scientific outcomes, user communities, service support systems, user service modes and funding source and structure. The results demonstrate that the supercomputing environments in both main nodes are of clear characteristics of application, which reflects that the resource distribution of CNGrid has well satisfied the application requirements. Moreover, CNGrid has exhibited its strong capability of providing computing services for scientific research and technology innovation. The analysis presented in this paper can be a good reference for pursuing sustainable development of CNGrid. It is also valuable for high performance computing capability buildup and applications development in other supercomputing centers.
