The paper describes the development of semi-submersible barge and its structure,chooses the construction referring to a 3 700-ton semi-submersible barge,conducts the FEA analysis of the transverse strength under various working conditions with the aid of Patran software,determines the stress and strength requirements of hull structure and key parts,thus builds the method for the transverse strength of semi-submersible barge.
