隐晶质白云母发现于西藏倒不陇金矿晚期热液石英脉中。矿物呈隐晶质团块状,浅黄绿色—黄绿色,半透明,有滑感,外观与蛇纹石和叶腊石极为相似。野外观察鉴定疑为蛇纹石或叶腊石,但蛇纹石应形成于富镁的环境,而叶腊石则应形成于高镁的环境。此地区石英脉很纯净,其中石英占90%以上,其余是方解石和少量菱铁矿。对这种疑似蛇纹石或叶腊石的隐晶质经过物理性质鉴定、化学成分分析、粉晶X射线衍射(X-RD)分析,证明这是一种罕见的隐晶质白云母。
The aphanitic muscovite discovered in late hydrothermal quartz veins in Daobulong gold deposits,Tibet,is characterized by aphanitic texture,massive structure,light kelly-grass kelly color,translucence,and greasy feeling.Due to the high similarity,it is often misclassified as serpentine or agalmatolite in the field.It is well-known that both serpentine and agalmatolite are generally rich in magnesium(Mg).However,the quartz veins in Daobulong gold deposits contain only quartz(more than 90%),calcite,and minor siderite.It is demonstrated that this mineral belongs to a rare type of aphanitic muscovite,according to the physical and chemical properties of the mineral and the mineralogical analysis by x-ray diffraction(X-RD).
