In Nayong County of Guizhou Province,there are some unique customs in funerals among the Miao and DAGA is just one of the customs.The ritual has been passed on from generation to generation,for it can be applied to adjust interpersonal relationship,enhance ethnic identity and lead people to shame-awareness and to the judge of good or evil.It also contains the rich moral implications about production,life,concepts and ideals.The DAGA ritual of the Miao,an effective media for moral enlightenment,is of great significance to the research of folklore and cultural anthropology.
